As you know, a couple of weeks ago, I publicly supported the proposed budget cuts of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.  He had proposed non-mission critical personnel cuts (specifically high level brass and redundant agencies) and after review of his proposal, I concluded that the cuts were necessary, advisable, and set a great example for the rest of the federal bureaucracy. 

Sure, I took some heat from both sides, but I have to tell you, folks, I AM SERIOUS about curtailing our out-of-control spending habits! I'm not playing political games with this, and I'm not mouthing platitudes.   This is called tough love - and it means that before the honest, tax-paying citizens of this country have to tighten their belt one more notch, the federal government MUST cut spending.

In the months since we started featuring YouCut on this website, I have not been surprised that the Democrats have foiled every single attempt to cut spending as proposed NOT by Republicans (who are simply the messengers in this case), but by YOU, the People!  Who do the Democrats think they are?  Not representatives of the People, that's for sure, or else they would slash the budget according to OUR dictates.  Instead, they protect every worthless expenditure as sacrosanct.  It's absurd.  (Which is why my infamous proposal to cut congressional pay by 25% needs a second look, folks!)

I think I have proven, and our military has proven, that no expense is sacred.  If a conservative, pro-military Republican can agree to trim the fat in the DoD, then so can every fat-cat, pork-rolling politician out there!  Otherwise, they cannot be considered serious or credible about our economy or our future.

Our federal budget is dripping with fat, and if the Democrats cannot be persuaded to cut a single red cent, then they must get out of our way.  They are willfully obstructing  the will of the People.

1.  Prohibit Mandated Project Labor Union Agreements That Increase Government Construction Costs
Saves: 10 to 20 percent per construction project, totaling hundreds of millions of dollars

2.  Suspend Federal Land Purchases
Saves $266 million next year and $2.66 billion over ten years

3.  Require Collection of Unpaid Taxes From Federal Employees
Savings of potentially $1 billion

4.  Eliminate the "Dodd Clinic" Earmark From Obamacare
Savings of $100 million over ten years
