ILARIO PANTANO LAUNCHES :60 TV AD CRITICIZING DAVID ROUZER FOR PRO-AMNESTY LOBBYING EFFORTS

Conservative Wilmington Republican and Son of Legal Immigrant Begins Heavy Week-Long Television Buy, Launches www.RouzerForAmnesty.com Website

(WILMINGTON, NC) – Conservative Wilmington Republican Ilario Pantano, the son of a legal immigrant to the United States, today released his first television ad of the 2012 campaign cycle, offering a strong rejection of the pro-amnesty lobbying efforts of primary opponent State Senator David Rouzer.

The :60 ad, entitled “Unacceptable,” details the outside-the-mainstream positions advocated by Rouzer on the issue of amnesty for illegals, and will appear on Wilmington-area broadcast and cable television for a week, including key holiday weekend football games.

Pantano also today announced the launch of an accompanying website, www.RouzerForAmnesty.com, detailing Raleigh-Washington insider David Rouzer’s work to create a massive new federal amnesty plan.

At issue is the work Rouzer did on behalf of the AgJOBS Act in 2007, a key showdown between grassroots activists and special interest lobbyists.  The Sen. Dianne Feinstein-sponsored AgJOBS Act would have given amnesty to 1.5 million illegal agriculture workers and upwards of 1.8 million of their family members. It even would have provided amnesty for some illegals convicted of misdemeanor crimes and even those with pending criminal charges. Not a single Republican Congressman from North Carolina supported the bill, and the conservative Heritage Foundation called the AgJobs Act, “Immigration Amnesty Revived.”

“As the son of a legal immigrant to the United States and a representative of conservative grassroots activists in North Carolina, I find the work Senator Rouzer has done to lobby on behalf of amnesty of grave concern,” said Pantano. “North Carolina conservatives reject Senator Rouzer’s federal amnesty plan, and I find it both wrong and offensive that Senator Rouzer cashed a paycheck to push such heinous policies.  Who knows what legislation Rouzer would push for a $5,000 PAC check in Washington.”

Below please find an ad transcript of “Unacceptable.”  For more information on Ilario Pantano or to schedule an interview, please contact: Andy Yates at 704-467-0795.

Voice Over: Raleigh lobbyist and politician David Rouzer collected a fat paycheck to push a liberal plan to provide amnesty for illegal aliens.

Not just amnesty for one point five million illegal agriculture workers, but amnesty to one point eight million family members of illegals.

Amnesty for some illegals convicted of misdemeanor crimes.  Amnesty for illegals with pending criminal charges.

That’s right; criminals would get a free pass to citizenship.

No surprise, Rouzer’s liberal amnesty plan was supported by Barack Obama, Ted Kennedy, Diane Feinstein and Hillary Clinton.

Not a single Republican Congressman from North Carolina supported the bill.

The conservative Heritage Foundation even called it, “Immigration Amnesty Revived.”

David Rouzer should be ashamed for pocketing thousands of dollars to push this liberal amnesty nightmare.

Lobbyist David Rouzer. Wrong on amnesty.  Very wrong for North Carolina.
